Beginning of the Day
Due to Covid, there will be only two entrances open for access onto the school site – Plane Tree gate and the Birmingham Road Early Years wooden door. Each class will have a designated zone on the school playground and the expectation is that children queue with their adult, adhering to social distancing within a designated area. Please supervise your child on school site and children should remain beside their parent/carer at all times. The child’s teacher will meet and greet their class on the playground at the designated time and lead the children into their class. Parents/carers are asked to leave the school site as soon as the class teacher arrives and follow social distancing at all times. Please leave promptly and do not gather in social groups to maintain the safety of all.
A Typical School Day
Children begin their day with a morning mission which involves a problem / task / or question set by the teaching staff. Formal lessons begin promptly at 8:55. All children will have a morning break, an assembly and a lunchtime break throughout the day.
Children will need to bring in their PE kits in school and these will remain in school for each half term. If your child wears a face mask whilst travelling to and from school, these must be removed before entering the school premises.
Breakfast club and Little Pears will be run as normal. We have a new ’wrap around’ online booking system where you can book any wrap around care needed. Please ensure you have booked and paid for this provision at least a week in advance (Teacher2 Parents App).
Arrangements for Break and Lunch
Groups of children will have breaktimes at separate times.
Children will eat lunch in the lunch hall in their small groups at staggered times. All children in Reception and Key stage 1 (Years 1&2) will be provided with a school meal in line with Universal Free school Meals offer. Children in Key Stage 2 who are entitled to Free School Meals will also be provided with a school meal. These are also available to purchase at a cost of £2.20 per day. Key Stage 2 children not entitled to a FSM or not purchasing one may bring in a small lunch bag or a school bag. As we are ensuring spaces are easily cleanable, we need to limit any clutter.
Children in Year 1-6 may bring a named, washable water bottle to school this must not be left in school and must return home daily. Early Years will be provided with fresh water throughout the day.
Minibus Service
You will need to phone the office before booking this service to check availability. Please pay for this service at least a week in advance via the Teacher 2 Parents App.
Visitors
There will be some restrictions in place for any visitors. Should parents need to visit the school office for any reason, they should phone first. Teachers will not be able to have face-to-face meetings with parents. Should there be something you wish to discuss with a teacher, this should be via a phone call (between 3.30 – 4:30pm) or via an email sent to office@stgprimary.org. If you do need to visit the school for any reason, you must wear a face mask when in the building.
School Events and Clubs
At present we will not be able to offer after school clubs, other than wrap around care.
